Santiago's Cathedral

It is located opposite the Plaza de Armas and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. It is one of the main symbols of Catholicism in Chile.

The church was built and rebuilt over the years 1544 and 1748. In 1899, its transformation was ordered in Cathedral, where diverse remodels and decorations took away his primitive colonial style, giving it a neo-renaissance aspect that today characterizes it.

Inside you will find the image of the Virgen del Carmen patron of Chile, the remains of archbishops and bishops of Chile, and the Monument to the Heroes of the Battle of the Conception, which keeps the four captains hearts fallen in combat.
